2018 Trimont Area Women Tour of Homes—November 17th

Last month, I talked about how much fun the Minneapolis Parade of Homes was and the new home trends that were on display. This month, I’m excited to tell you about an opportunity to take a look at some beautiful local homes and help support a great women’s non-profit organization raise money for educational and community projects.
The Trimont Area Women have been hosting a fall tour of homes since the mid 90’s. The tour started as a fun endeavor for women in the community to raise money for different projects and activities including back-to-school backpacks, roller skates for local schools, teacher’s wish lists, high school scholarships, post prom, Fun Fest, Easter egg hunts, and National Night Out.
This year the tour is scheduled for Saturday, November 17th and there are five unique homes on the tour, all located within the Welcome, Fox Lake and Sherburn areas. From a rustic lake cabin to a modern farmhouse and ranch-style handicap accessibility to lakeshore views, the tour offers a nice variety of homes, several of which are new construction. I am fortunate to have worked on designs for two of the homes on the tour.
First on the tour is Peter and Amanda Hartwig’s modern farmhouse loaded with agricultural personality and perfect for family gatherings, located at 1004 110thAvenue in rural Welcome. Next, if you travel to Sherburn you can view Char Kitner’s and Virginia Ringnell’s ranch- style homes just a block apart on Fox Lake Avenue (409, 334). Both of these homes benefit from the amenities of living within city limits while possessing beautiful rural views of nature and agriculture. Finally, if you venture out to South Fox Lake Avenue of rural Sherburn on Fox Lake, you’ll find the final two tour offerings; Vanessa’s Kettner’s rustic lake cabin which boasts high-vaulted ceilings, rustic beams, hickory wood cabinets and loads of cabin charm; and just a few houses down you’ll find Jamie and Deb Williamson’s traditional two-story lake home designed with family and fun in mind! So, mark your calendar for SATURDAY and come out and join us for this fun, fall tour of homes Saturday, November 17th from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door of any of the homes on the tour. All proceeds benefit educational and community projects and activities sponsored by Trimont Area Women.
